A RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO AUTHORIZE

THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A LEASE

AGREEMENT WITH THE LITTLE ROCK

SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THE LEASE OF
7 PARR PROPERTY AT 9TH AND PULASKI
8 STREETS TO BE USED AS THE SITE FOR

THE MARTIN LUTHER RING ELJ94ENTARY
10 SCHOOL; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

12 WHEREAS, the Little Rock School District has approached the
13 City of Little Rock about the purchase or lease of property at
14 9th and Pulaski Streets to be used as the location of the Martin
15 Luther King Elementary School; and
16 WH gMEAS, this property is currently identified as park
17 property for the City of Little Rock; and
18 WHEREAS, the Little Rock School District has agreed to a
19 lease which would in effect be for a long term of up to 99 years
20 at a modest consideration; and
21 WHEREAS, the Little Rock School District understands that
22 the property not being used for school purposes, or being used
23 at particular times for school activities, is still public park
24 property and will be available to the public to use for that
25 purpose; and
26 WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the citizens of the City
27 of Little Rock and the patrons of the Little Rock School
28 District to enter into such an agreement.
29 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
30 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
31 SECTION 1. The Mayor is authorized to execute a long -term
32 lease between the City of Little Rock and the Little Rock School
33 District for the lease of property at 9th and Pulaski Streets
34 once such a lease meets with the approval of the City Manager
35 and the City Attorney, provided that prior to the execution of

this lease, and its attestation by the City Clerk, the final

terms are made known to the members of the Board of Directors.
