8731�- $(P A -5 413 1 RESOLUTION NO. 8,731 2 3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FROM 4 THE 1988 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BOND PROJECT FOR 5 IMPROVEMENTS TO HISTORIC BUILDING FACADES AS APPROVED 6 IN THE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT 7 8 9 WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 15,473 appropriated funds from the 10 1988 Capital Improvement Bond sale proceeds for projects which 11 included: $800,000 for the purpose of matching on a dollar -for- 12 dollar basis funds provided for the South Main Improvement 13 District and the Facade Grant Program; and 14 WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 15,400 appropriated $300,000 for the 15 South Main Improvement District Project, thereby leaving a 16 balance of $500,000 to be used for the Facade Grant Program; and 17 WHEREAS, Resolution No. 8146 authorized the expenditure of 18 $500,000 for improvements to the historic building facades as 19 approved by the Architectural Review Committee; and 20 WHEREAS, the Architectural Review Committee for the Facade 21 Grant Program has reviewed and approved additional applications 22 for specific projects; and 23 WHEREAS, the Howe Building has been determined to be of 24 historic and architectural significance to the Central Business 25 District, and the restoration of the roof, windows, storefront 26 and masonry will enhance the structure and the surrounding area. 27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 28 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 29 SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to expend 30 funds from the 1988 Capital Improvement Bond Project, Account No. 31 301 -8516 for the following project in the specified amount 32 listed: 33 The Howe Building, 801 W. Markham Street $30,000 34 SECTION 2.
