A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING $143,000 FROM THE
PARKS AND PUBLIC WORKS RESERVE ACCOUNT TO
THE 28TH AND UNIVERSITY AVENUE SPECIAL
PROJECTS ACCOUNT; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ACCEPT BIDS AND AWARD A CONTRACT
TO CONSTRUCT II4MOVIO EWS AND RESIGNALIZE
THE 28TH STREET AND UNIVERSITY AVENUE
WHEREAS, this project is a joint undertaking by the City
and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR); and
WHEREAS, it includes widening of 28th Street from
University Avenue to West Campus Drive, construction of an
additional left turn lane, and resignalization of the 28th and
University intersection; and
WHEREAS, UALR will contribute $75,204.04 to construction in
addition to participating in engineering costs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to
allocate $143,000 from the Parks and Public Works Reserve Account
#210 -8534 to the 28th and University Avenue Special Projects
Account #210- 220 -0245 for the 28th Street at University Avenue
intersection improvements project.
SECTION 2: The City Manager is authorized to accept bids
and award a contract to Construction Management and Maintenance,
Inc., in an amount not to exceed $263,245.54 to construct
improvements and resignalize the 28th Street and University Avenue
intersection.
