A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXTEND THE CONTRACT FOR FLEET REPAIR
SERVICE FOR ONE YEAR FOR THE DEPARTMENT
OF GENERAL SERVICES /FLEET SERVICES
DIVISION.
WHEREAS, a contract to provide fleet repair service was
approved by Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 8,483 (April 16,
1991); and
WHEREAS, the bid stated that upon City Manager approval
the contract could be renewed for one additional year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to extend
the contract to the various companies as shown on the attached
tabulation in an amount not to exceed $60,000 for fleet repair
service for a one year period.

RECOMMENDATION AND DISCUSSION: It is recommended that contracts
for this bid be extended for one additional year as per the terms
of the bid. The award was made to both primary and secondary
awardees. The primary would always be used unless they could not
meet Fleets schedule. The secondary award on item #2 was
recommended to Whiteys Truck Center even though Robinson
International submitted the same price, because Robinson only
works on International products.
REASON FOR DISQUALIFICATION:
Burris Truck & Fire Apparatus
The terms of the bid allowed for inspection of the
premises to determine adequacy to perform the
requirements of the contract. This company cannot
provide adequate security for City of Little Rock
equipment.
