A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ACCEPT BIDS AND AWARD A CONTRACT FOR THE
PURCHASE OF COMPUTER HARDWARE FOR THE
OFFICE OF MANAGEMENT SUPPORT.

WHEREAS, the continued growth of on -line users and the
resulting increase in DASD capacity has necessitated adding
several features to the City's computer mainframe; and
WHEREAS, upgrades to the central processors are essential
to maintaining acceptable response times especially for public
safety applications; and
WHEREAS, this upgrade is part of an overall configuration
of present hardware designed to allow growth while creating more
efficient data retrieval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept
bids and award a contract to IBM in an amount not to exceed
$75,001.20 for the purchase of computer hardware (multi- system
channel control units, memory upgrade and parallel channels for
the Office of Management Support.
