A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ACCEPT BIDS AND AWARD A CONTRACT FOR
INSTALLATION OF DECORATIVE STREET
LIGHTING ALONG EAST 17TH STREET FROM
CUMBERLAND TO VANCE.
WHEREAS, the Board allocated $100,000 of the 17th Year
(1991 -92) CDBG Entitlement Grant to be used for eligible CDBG
activities on a "model block" in the Central Little Rock CDBG
area, and
WHERF.AS,a model block is intended to concentrate existing
programs and resources to upgrade public facilities, rehabilitate
existing housing stock, and reuse vacant lots by constructing new
affordable homes, all in order to encourage reinvestment in a
small neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, street lighting is a major component of the East
17th Street enhancement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept
bids and award a contract to Construction Management and
Maintenance, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $52,180 for
installation of decorative street lighting along East 17th Street
from Cumberland to Vance. Further, the City Manager is authorized
to approve change orders to the contract as long as such change
orders do not exceed $60,000.
SECTION 2: Funding is available under the Community
Development Block Grant program, Account No. 91/17201.
