A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ACCEPT BIDS AND AWARD AN ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR
FLEET REPAIR SERVICE FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF
GENERAL SERVICES /FLEET SERVICES DIVISION.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept
bids and award an annual contract for fleet repair service for the
Department of General Services /Fleet Services Division in an
amount not to exceed $85,000 to various companies as shown in the
tabulation attached as Exhibit A.

RECOMMENDATION AND DISCUSSION: It is recommended that the award be
given to the lowest responsible bidder meeting specification. The
secondary award on item #2 was recommended to Whiteys Truck Center
even though Robinson International submitted the same price,
because Robinson only works on International products. It is also
recommended that a secondary contractor be selected in the case
that the primary contractor cannot fulfil the requirements of Fleet
Services. This contract is to be extended one year if approved by
the City Manager.
Reason for disqualification:
Burris Truck & Fire - The terms of the bid allowed for
Apparatus inspection of the premises to
determine adequacy to perform the
requirements of the contract. This
company cannot provide adequate
security for City of Little Rock
equipment.
