4 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK TO REMOVE THE BARRICADE AT THE INTERSECTION OF
5 LEGION HUT ROAD AND OXFORD VALLEY DRIVE AND ERECT A NEW
6 BARRICADE AT A LOCATION ON APPOMATTOX DRIVE NORTH OF THE
7 INTERSECTION WITH OXFORD VALLEY DRIVE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, residents of the Shiloh Neighborhood Association, Oxford Valley Neighborhood
Association, and Legion Hut Neighborhood Association voted November 29, 2006 to remove a barricade
erected at the intersection of Legion Hut Road and Oxford Valley Drive that authorized by Resolution
9298 and replace it with a new barricade on Appomattox Drive north of its intersection with Oxford
Valley Drive;
WHEREAS, the relocated barricade will serve to prevent bypassing at the current location, reduce
cut through and construction traffic. Residents also believe the barricade will reduce area crime;
WHEREAS, the relocated barricade will have a more permanent appearance including curbs,
signage and landscaping and the landscaping will be maintained by members of the Shiloh
Neighborhood Association;
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has determined that the removal of the current barricade at the
intersection of Legion Hut Road and Oxford Valley Drive and the erection of a new barricade to a point
north on Appomattox Drive north of its intersection with Oxford Valley Drive is in the best interest of
the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLF
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The Public Works Department of the City of Little Rock is authorized to use City funds to
remove the current barricade at Oxford Valley Drive and Legion Hut Road and to erect a new barricade
on Appomattox Drive north of its intersection with Oxford Valley Drive.
Section 2. The new barricade shall contain other features deemed appropriate by City staff
including curbs, landscaping, and signage.
Section 3. Removing the existing barricade on Oxford Valley Drive and construction of a new one on
Appomattox Drive north of its intersection with Oxford Valley Drive is in the best interests of the public
health, safety and welfare of the citizens.
Section 4. Funds are available from the Public Works Street Fund budget.
Section 5. Severobility. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be
invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of
this resolution, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged
invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of this resolution.

I Section 6. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict with
2 any provision of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
