3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT
4 WITH MILSAP STONE CO., INC., TO SUPPLY AND DELIVER NATIVE STONE FOR
5 THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE RIVERFRONT ADVENTURE PARK; AND FOR OTHER
6 PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, current playgrounds are designed to enhance a child's imagination and developmental
9 skills while being fun and, through the City Parks E: Recreation Department with in -kind contributions
10 and donations of almost five hundred thousand ($500,000) dollars from entities such as Riverfest,
11 WDI*D Architects, and the Peabody Hotel, a redesign of the old playground and water fountain to en-
12 hance the Julius C. Breckling Riverfront Park has been completed, and
13 WHEREAS, to integrate native stone into this redesign bids were taken with the lowest responsible
14 and responsive bidder of the five bids received submitted by Milsap Stone Co., Inc.,
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
16 ROCK, ARKANSAS:
17 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Milsap Stone Co., Inc., not
18 to exceed seventy thousand ($70,000) dollars, for the purchase and delivery of native stone to be used
19 in construction of the Riverfront Adventure Park.
20 Section 2. Funds for this project are available from proceeds of the $70,635,000 City of Little
21 Rock, Arkansas Limited Tax General Obligation Capital Improvement Bonds, Series 2004.
22 Section 3. Repealer. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase,
23 or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
24 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force
25 and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part
26 of the resolution.
27 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsis-
28 tent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
