124011 2 RESOLUTION NO. 12,401 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A 4 CHANGE ORDER FOR THE LITTLE ROCK ANIMAL VILLAGE CONSTRUCTION 5 PROJECT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF OUTDOOR RUNS AND PERIMETER 6 FENCING; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, Phase I of the Little Rock Animal Village construction project was 9 initiated as a 2004 Bond project in January, 2005, and a construction contract was 10 entered into with G.A.G. Builders, Inc. for an amount not to exceed $1,346,000.00, and 11 WHEREAS, subsequent to execution of the contract, funding for construction of 12 outdoor dog runs and perimeter security fencing and lighting has become available 13 through donations from the general public and by appropriation from the Arkansas 14 General Assembly, and 15 WHEREAS, it has been determined that the dog runs and perimeter security 16 fencing should be installed while the contractor on the project is on the job site in 17 order to coordinate the work of the subcontractors, and 18 WHEREAS, the cost of constructing forty (40) outdoor dog runs, purchasing and 19 installing chain link fencing around the perimeter of the outdoor dog runs, and 20 purchasing and installing exterior light fixtures will be in the amount of One Hundred 21 Thirty -four Thousand, Nine Hundred Seventy -nine Dollars ($134,979.00); 22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 23 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 24 Section 1. The Board of Directors authorizes the City Manager to execute a 25 change order to the contract for Phase I construction of the Little Rock Animal Village [PAGE 1 OF 21 Resolution 'to authorize a change order for the Animal Village Construction Project 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 in the amount of One Hundred Thirty -four Thousand, Nine Hundred Seventy -nine Dollars ($134,979.00), for construction of forty (40) outdoor dog runs and for purchase and installation of related perimeter security fencing and light fixtures. Section 2. Funds are available from the Animal Village Construction Fund and the State Appropriation Fund for the 85th Session of the Arkansas General Assembly. Section 3. Severabi/ity. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the resolution. Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
