123601 2 RESOLUTION NO. 12,360 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH MBF INDUSTRIES FOR THE 5 PURCHASE OF A MOBILE COMMAND CENTER TO BE UTILIZED 6 BY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, the formal bidding process was utilized to obtain four competitive 9 bids for the purchase of a Mobile Command Center for Emergency Management for 10 assistance in preventing, responding to, and recovering from acts of terrorism and other 11 mass casualty events during the first hours of response, and 12 WHEREAS, MBF Industries submitted the most responsible and responsive bid 13 for the Mobile Command Center, in the amount of Four Hundred Twenty -nine 14 Thousand, Eight Hundred Ninety -Five Dollars ($495,895.00); 15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 16 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 17 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter 18 into a contract with MBF Industries for the purchase of one Mobile Command Center, 19 in the amount of Four Hundred Twenty -nine Thousand, Eight Hundred Ninety -Five 20 Dollars ($429,895.00); 21 Section 2. Funds for this purchase will be allocated as follows: Acct. 700 -340- 22 x087 in the amount of $421,587.84, which is from the FY05 State Homeland Security 23 Grant Program awarded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security; and Acct. #700- 24 340 -x073 in the amount of $8,307.16, which is from the FY05 Metropolitan Medical 25 Response System Program. 26 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, 27 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or PAGE 1 OF 21 Resolution Contract for Mobile Command Center I unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining 2 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so 3 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 4 resolution. 5 Section 4. Repealer.
