RESOLUTION NO. 12350
3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH ACE USA INSURANCE
5 COMPANY TO PROVIDE ACCIDENTAL DEATH AND
6 DISMEMBERMENT INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR CITY
7 EMPLOYEES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
9 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock provides basic Accidental Death and
10 Dismemberment coverage to all regular full -time City employees and, additionally,
11 offers employees the opportunity to purchase a voluntary AD &D policy through
12 payroll deduction, and
13 WHEREAS, in response to the most recent Request for Proposal, ACE USA
14 Insurance Company submitted a renewal proposal for 2007 with no increase in
15 premium rate and was selected as the low -cost provider of these coverages;
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
17 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to extend the contract with ACE
19 USA Insurance Company to provide the basic AD &D coverage provided by the City to
20 all regular full -time employees and the voluntary AD &D coverage available to such
21 employees through payroll deduction, for the policy year 2007.
22 Section 2. Funds for the cost of the coverage are included as a line item in the
23 2007 City budget.
24 Section 3. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or
25 adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not
26 affect the remaining portions of this resolution, which shall remain in full force and

effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not
originally a part of this resolution.
Section 4. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which
are in conflict with any provision of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of
such conflict.
