RESOLUTION NO. 12,324
3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 PURCHASE OFFICE FURNITURE AND RELATED EQUIPMENT FOR
5 THE NEW FIRE DEPARTMENT TRAINING ACADEMY UNDER THE
6 EXISTING CONTRACT WITH THE STATE OF ARKANSAS; AND
7 FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
9 WHEREAS, the 2004 Capital Improvement Bond issue approved by the voters of
10 the City of Little Rock provided funds for the construction and furnishings of a new
11 fire department complex which includes a fire training academy, located at 7000
12 Murray Street, and
13 WHEREAS, the office furnishings and equipment for the fire department
14 training academy will be purchased by the City under the existing contract with the
15 State of Arkansas, and the local vendor providing the furnishings is Today's Office, Inc.,
16 717 West T11 Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72201.
17 WHEREAS, the total cost for the purchase and installation of office furniture and
18 related equipment is One Hundred Thirty -seven Thousand, Fifty -eight and 50/00
19 Dollars ($137,058.50).
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
21 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
22 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to
23
purchase office
furniture and related equipment for the fire
department training
24
academy under
the existing contract with the State of Arkansas,
for the total cost of
25 One Hundred Thirty -seven Thousand, Fifty -eight and 50/00 Dollars ($137,058.50).

Resolution
To authorize purchase of office furniture and equipment for I,RFD Training Academy
I Section 2. The cost of project will be funded with $104,705.63 from 2004 Bond
2 Projects Fund, and the remaining $32,352.87 will be funded through grants monies
3 received through the Fire Department's Division of Emergency Management.
4 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
5 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
6 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining
7 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so

declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
resolution.
Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that
are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent
of such inconsistency.
