Section 15-95 Screening Requirements
2) Special screening - Dumpsters, loading docks, heating and air conditioning units,
external storage of materials, communications equipment and similar outside activities
and appurtenances shall be screened from abutting properties and streets. The screen
shall exceed the height of the dumpster by at least 2 feet not to exceed 8 feet total height.
Section 15-96 Perimeter Planting Strips
A) Perimeter planting strip is required along any side of a vehicular use area that abuts
adjoining property or the right-of-way of any street, highway or freeway. This strip shall be
at least 9 feet wide. The perimeter planting strip adjacent to freeways or expressways
shall be at least 30' wide.
B) 1 tree shall be planted for every 750 square feet of required landscape or buffer area
with an average linear spacing of not less than 30'. 3 shrubs or vines for every 301inear
feet shall be planted in the perimeter strip.

A) interior landscape areas shall comprise at least 8% of any vehicular use area
containing 12 or more parking spaces.
B) In order to apply toward the required 8% landscape area, the minimum size of an
interior landscape area shall be 150 square feet for developments with 150 or fewer

C) Trees shall be included in the interior landscape areas at a rate of 1 tree for every 12
parking spaces
Section 15-98 Building Landscape Area
A) Landscape areas may be installed in the area immediately adjacent to the building or
elsewhere on the site at the discretion of the responsible party. However, landscape
areas shall be provided between the vehicular use area used for public parking and the
general vicinity of the building, excluding truck loading or service areas not open to public
parking. These areas shall be equal to an equivalent planter strip T wide along the
vehicular use area.
