MEETING MINUTES
The City Beautiful Commission held a planned meeting at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 24,
2023, at Willie L. Hinton Neighborhood Resource Center, 3805 West 12th Street. Simultaneously
the meeting was virtually held online using the WebEx format. With Chairman Sanders-Woods
being absent, and Vice-Chairman Stephens having resigned, Steven Homeyer called the meeting
to order.

APPROVAL OF THE APRIL MEETING MINUTES:
With the absence of a chairperson, there was a motion to appoint Commissioner Homeyer Vice-
Chairman; the motion was seconded and approved unanimously by all present Commissioners.
Motion: A motion was made that the April 27, 2023, minutes be approved.
Second: The motion was seconded, and it passed unanimously.
FUNDING REQUEST:
Commissioner Homeyer requested approval to spend more than $500.00 for Landscape Award
signs.
Motion: A motion was made to approve the expenditures.
Second: The motion was seconded, and it passed unanimously.

KLRB:
Great Arkansas Cleanup will be September 9th at 9am in Murray Park.
Adopt-A-Street:
It was decided that the cleanup schedule coming up will be September 16, October 21, and
November 18. The meeting place will be the Regions Bank parking lot at 8:00 am at Markham
Street and Bowman Road.
Eye of the Beholder:

T.R.E.E. Fund:
No report.
NEW BUSINESS:
• Discussion to address Landscape Awards at the next meeting.
• Discussion to target a date for the CBC Retreat in February 2024.
• Discussion about Commission vacancies and upcoming renewals which need to be addressed.
• Presentation by Girl Scout Troop 6312 to reforest Little Rock public property affected by the
recent tornado. The troop is wanting to partner with the CBC for tree funding and Parks
Department for the location. The CBC is agreeable and tasked the troop to provide information
on costs and a plan.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
The next Commission meeting will be September 28, 2023.

Vice-Chairman Homeyer entertained a motion to adjourn the meeting.
Motion: A motion was made for the meeting to adjourn.
Second: The motion was seconded, and it passed unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:53 pm.
