CBC_04 27 2023MEETING MINUTES
The City Beautiful Commission held a planned meeting at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27,
2023, at Willie L. Hinton Neighborhood Resource Center, 3805 West 12th Street. Due to
critical City communications issues the meeting was not virtually held online using the WebEx
format. A digital recording was made for the record. With Chairman Sanders-Woods being
absent, Vice-Chairman Stephens called the meeting to order.

APPROVAL OF THE MARCH MEETING MINUTES:
Commissioner Stephens entertained a motion to approve the March 23, 2023, minutes.
Motion: A motion was made that the March 23, 2023, minutes be approved.
Second: The motion was seconded, and it passed unanimously.

Adopt-A-Street:
It was announced that the cleanup on April 22 was successful. There was discussion to schedule
the May cleanup on May 13 at 8:00 am, meeting at Senor Tequila parking lot on Bowman Road.
Eye of the Beholder:
It was announced that Eye of the Beholder Award signs are out in three yards.
T.R.E.E. Fund:
There was discussion about the existing fund balance; how, what, and where can it be used.
NEW BUSINESS:
No new business.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
There was an update on the landscape ordinance revision including invasive species. It was
approved by the Board of Directors and must now go through the waiting period before being
officially adopted.
There was a statement from the Director of Planning and Development, Jamie Collins,
challenging the CBC to rethink and rejuvenate the CBC’s efforts and responsibilities as many of
the stated functions are now accomplished by other groups. The Commissioners agreed to
consider the challenge and to form a committee to propose changes to their mission.
The next Commission meeting will be May 25, 2023.
