CBC_03 23 2023MEETING MINUTES
The City Beautiful Commission held a planned meeting at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 23,
2023, at Willie L. Hinton Neighborhood Resource Center, 3805 West 12th St. Simultaneously
the meeting was virtually held online using the WebEx format. Chairman Sanders-Woods, called
the meeting to order.

APPROVAL OF THE FEBRUARY MEETING MINUTES:
Commissioner Sanders-Woods entertained a motion to approve the February 23, 2023 minutes as
amended per City Attorney, Beth Carpenter.
Motion: A motion was made that the January 26, 2023 minutes be approved as amended.
Second: The motion was seconded, and it passed unanimously.

KLRB:
CBC cleanup was added to the KLRB schedule.
Adopt-A-Street:
It was announced that the cleanup on March 11 was successful. There was discussion to schedule
the April cleanup at 8:00 am, meeting at Regions Bank to focus on the creek area at Bowman
Road and Markham Street.
Eye of the Beholder:
It was announced that Eye of the Beholder Award nomination cards were distributed to citizens by
commissioners Sanders-Woods (2) and Wierciak (2). More cards were requested.
T.R.E.E. Fund:
There was discussion about the existing fund balance; how, what, and where can it be used.
NEW BUSINESS:
No new business.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
There was brief discussion on thinking about scheduling a commission retreat. Also, questions
about the commissioner handbook and what to do with the iPads which were distributed to the
commissioners during the Covid period.
The next Commission meeting will be April 27, 2023.
