3 A RESOLUTION TO CHANGE THE NAME OF THAT PORTION
4 OF PRESTON DRIVE LOCATED BETWEEN CHICOT ROAD
5 AND ADKINS STREET TO VERNON ESTATES DRIVE AND TO
6 CHANGE THE NAME OF ADKINS STREET BETWEEN
7 PRESTON DRIVE AND CAMERON STREET TO JAMES M.
8 HENSON DR. (G -25 -194)

10 WHEREAS, an application was filed by the owners of the majority of
11 properties abutting Preston Drive and Adkins Street requesting that the name of
12 that portion of Preston Drive located between Chicot Road and Adkins Street be
13 changed to Vernon Estates Drive and that the name of Adkins Street between
14 Preston Drive and Cameron Street be changed to James M. Henson Dr.; and
15 WHEREAS, at its May 25, 2006 meeting, the Little Rock Planning
16 Commission voted to recommend approval of the requested street name changes
17 by a vote of 7 ayes, 0 noes and 4 absent; and
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
19 DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1. The name of that portion of Preston Drive between Chicot
21 Road and Adkins Street is hereby changed to Vernon Estates Drive.
22 Section 2. The name of Adkins Street from Preston Drive to Cameron
23 Street is hereby changed to James M. Henson Dr.

I Section 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
2 adoption and the City Manager is hereby directed to notify all City Departments
3 and agencies of said changes.
