This property was a part of the Rock Creek Annexation and Zoning Plan adopted by the Board of Directors in 1977. During that major struggle, several hundred acres were zoned for a variety of uses, including apartments, office and commercial. The vast majority of the property zoned under that annexation plan remains undeveloped and available for use. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Staff believes that the demand for this site is misplaced and recommends denial of the application. COMMISSION ACTION The applicant was present, and there were no objectors. The owner stated that he had owned this property for some thirty years and that he had an opportunity to sell the property for use for this particular purpose. The doctor who is planning to purchase the property was also present and briefly described his development proposal. After this discussion, the Commission moved to approve the application as filed. The motion was passed: 7 ayes, 2 noes and 2 absent.
