The City Beautiful Commission held its regular meeting at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday,
February 08, 2015, at Curran Hall, 615 E. Capitol Avenue. Chairman Ed Peek called the meeting
to order.

APPROVAL OF THE NOVEMBER MINUTES:
Motion: Chairman Peek entertained a motion to approve the January 08, 2015 Minutes.
Commissioner Winchester made a motion to approve.
Second: Commissioner Loveless seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

That money has been transferred from the old checking account to the new checking
account.

Community Proiects
I-630 Trees:
• The commissioners briefly discussed and noted this item needs to be removed from the
Agenda since there is no opportunity for planting trees in this area.
City Hall South Yard:
Commissioner Homeyer stated:
a That there is no update.
Commissioner Winchester inquired about the scope of the work for this project. Commissioner
Homeyer gave a brief history of what the CBC is trying to accomplish with this project.

Commissioner Hancock stated:
a He had uploaded the Minutes from January's meeting to the website.

In Commissioner Morgan's absence there was no report,
Commissioner Hancock stated:
• He had investigated what would be required for the CBC to acquire a Facebook page and
had found a list of the City's policies. This would be used as a guide to draft a letter for
further discussion.
KLRB:
Commissioner Loveless stated:
0 The City Wide Cleanup will be March 14t`.
• Chairman Peek read a letter from Keep Little Rock Beautiful addressed to Adopt -a -Street
Participants. This outlined the City Wide Cleanup and provided an application for
registration.
■ Twenty ($20,000.00) thousand dollars has been raised for beautification / landscape for the
Kavanaugh round -a -bout.
• He had spoken with merchants in the Hillcrest area who were in agreement that they would
be receptive to cigarette disposal canisters affixed to telephone poles. Finalization of details
and placement will be accomplished Friday afternoon February 06, 2015.
Adopt -A -Street:
Commissioner Loveless stated:
That the Adopt -A -Street program will be celebrating its 28t' year anniversary in June.
There will be a presentation at City Hall.
■ Chairman Peek proposed a cleanup for Saturday February 07, 2015 at 8:30 am.

■ As noted at the last meeting signs are being made and paid for out of 2014's budget.
T.R.E.E Fund:

■ About the tree installation at War Memorial Golf Course. City Attorney Carpenter stated
that she would see Mark Webre from the City's Parks Department at next week's Parks
Commission meeting and would inquire about the schedule for installation.
NEW BUSUINESS:

CBC Retreat will be March 18, 2015, 3:00 pm— 5:00 pm at Mangan Holcomb Partners.

• The next meeting will be March 5th at 11:30am.
The next Adopt -A- Street cleanup will be February 07th at 8:30 am.
• Commissioner Hancock stated that a date for Pop-up in the Rock / Pop-up West 9th Street
had been set for October 24, 2015,

Keep Little Rock Beautiful would like to invite you to join us on March 14, 2015 (8:00 until noon) for the
61" Annual City Wide Cleanup. As a Keep America Beautiful affiliate, we are organizing this as part of the
Great Arnericarr Cleanup, the largest grassroots cleanup effort in the nation. As a result of the first five years
of the City Wide Cleanup, we have made great strides in improving the appearance of the city.
Our goal is to empower and energize the citizens of Little Rock to take action in the areas of litter
prevention, community improvement, recycling, waste reduction, and beautification. We are reaching out to
you join us in our endeavor.
We know that as an Adopt -a -Street participant that you have a common interest in improving the
appearance of the streets in .Little Rock. We hope that you will make March 14 one of your regularly
scheduled pickups.
Keep Little Rock Beautiful is proud to partner with the Little Rock Public Works to promote and advance
the Adopt -a -Street program, which is going to be celebrating its 20"' Anniversary this summer. Thank you

We understand the importance of providing feedback and reports to KLRB in return for receiving cleanup

Failure to do so may prevent us from receiving supplies for future cleanup.
