Dear City of Little Rock,
I would like to be considered for the Little Rock City Beautiful Commission. I am a
lifetime resident of Little Rock, and I have enjoyed the improvements to our streets and
parks over the years. I am a member of the Central Arkansas Iris Society and assist in the
maintenance of our display beds at the Arkansas State Capitol. While I was teaching, I
was the sponsor for the garden clubs at Dunbar Middle School and Hall High, and made
an effort to interest students in our natural environment. Since retirement, I have been
interested in keeping our historical areas attractive for public visitation. I am a member
of the Arkansas Arts Center and Historic Arkansas which I consider to be attractions that
are of value to the citizens of Little Rock, and to visitors from throughout the world. I
have the time to devote to the City Beautiful Commission and I would like to continue
the progress that is being made to beautify our city. I have especially liked the daylily
plantings on Main Street. I think that the city has many opportunities for the future and I
would like to be a part of that process.
Cordially,
