Chair Homeyer called the meeting to order. Second: Commissioner Warren seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. ITEM NO. 1-OLD BUSINESS: C.B.C. CASE NO. 615: OLD HAVERTY'S BUILDING Staff noted the applicant has been contacted yet has yet to provide staff with additional information staff recommends the item be deferred. Motion: Commissioner Dicker made a motion to defer the item another month; however, to be withdrawn should the applicant not address the issues needed by city staff. Second: Chair Homeyer seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. TREASURER'S REPORT: Per Betsy Luten The treasurer reported a balance of $1,491.01. Ms. Luten noted she'd left numerous inquiries with the secretary, Ms. Venita Harris, for a balance of the city CBC account; yet, still hasn't received a response. City staff noted they too, would inquire. Motion: Commissioner Cole made a motion to accept the expense report. Second: Commissioner Tatum seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. Memorial Ceremony for Mr. Bob Brown commenced. OLD BUSINESS: Landscape Awards -(Cole, Bell, Homeyer)-Commissioner Warren and Vice -chair Wiedower presented the 2010 options for the photo to be added to the award. City staff presented the 2010 CBC Landscape Award Nominees per a PowerPoint presentation. The three (3) sites were the 2010 Awardees: Baldwin & Shell The Heights Promenade Izzy's Restaurant City staff will get the names and addresses to Chair Homeyer so an award letter can be sent out to the awardees. The CBC banner will need to be located and brought to the ceremony. Meg Matthews noted the CBC could use a videographer for footage of the winning sites. It was agreed that would be a great idea. Commissioner Cole noted the City of Little Rock would be billed for the cake eaten today. Eve of the Beholder (Tatum)- Signage can be discussed at next months meeting but $173.48 would purchase more signage, if needed. Community Proiects City Hall Rear Entry Garden —no report. I-630 Trees -City staff noted that a meeting with the city urban forester had commenced and suggested a sub -committee meet with city staff to move forward on the plan(s). Website (Lynn) -no report. Library Exhibit- (Luten)-Exhibit is at Fletcher Library currently, Bowman Library in October, Fletcher Library in November, and Terry Library in December. KLRB (Walter)- Commissioner Jennings noted the cigarette butt cans had been placed in the River Market area. They are compiling a list of the worst streets from the Litter Index, finalizing the report now. Should anyone want additional information contact Commissioner Jennings. Adopt -A -Street (Wiedower)- Vice -Chair Wiedower noted he would send out a reminder email about Saturday's pick-up. Commissioner Jennings plans to work on the Adopt -A -Street goals this year. Garden Show 2010:(Luten)_—It was noted the garden show should be on the agenda soon. Discussion should commence regarding the cost versus the impact. Communications- (Cole)- Commissioner Cole will meet with Meg Matthews for the landscape awards, and public relations. Awards Committee-(Wiedower, Warren, and Cole) -The awards committee presented their findings on the various awards. City Staff, Christy Marvel, presented an example of the stone for the Polish the Rock Award, there are three stones remaining at Custom Trophies. Discussion commenced on the various awards; more to follow. NEW BUSINESS: Appointed commissioners will submit a slate of officers for 2011 at next months meeting.
