Walter Jennings, is one good example; although, he too will be leaving KLRB to become the President for the Master Gardeners Organization. Previously, Mr. Jennings had coordinated the Greater Little Rock Cleanup. Therefore, the KLRB is looking for someone to lead that project. In the beginning of the organization of the KLRB the City Board required that one CBC member also sit on the KLRB Commission. Mr. Abrams noted he thought this was a good idea. It will help both our Commissions by being aware of the various projects both Commissions are currently undertaking. One of the projects the KLRB Commission has been working on is the addition of a piece of art at the roundabout at Rebasamen Park Road. Also noted were: a school project at Meadow Cliff, a flower and vegetable garden, a cardboard drive in the River Market with Waste Management, glass removal/recycling research, all with a current membership of approximately twelve (12) individuals. KLRB Commission has also recently taken over the Adopt -A -Street program. It was previously in the Public Works Department. The clean up this year is scheduled for March the 101h, 2013. Mr. Abrams encourages participation and welcomes any help. It was noted the CBC continues to pick up a section of street along Bowman Curve. Mr. Abrams noted there is currently thirteen hundred (1300) miles of city streets. Currently, only three hundred (300) of those miles are adopted. It was noted that the City of Little Rock was in the Forbes Magazine, two (2) months ago for being number two (2) in the Nation for being the Prettiest and Cleanest.
