Chair Wiedower called the meeting to order. MEMBERS PRESENT: Steve Homeyer Julleah Johnson Bill Wiedower Herb Dicker Jennie Cole Lynn Warren Carrie Young Linda Bell MEMBERS ABSENT: vacancy vacancy Chris Minor ALSO PRESENT: Christy Marvel, Plans Development Administrator, Department of Planning & Development, City of Little Rock APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Motion: Commissioner Homeyer made a motion to accept the minutes as submitted. Second: Commissioner Warren seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. TREASURER'S REPORT: Commissioner Bell noted the CBC account had $1,402.05 and the City account has approximately 2,085.00. Commissioners be thinking about what each of your committees may need monetarily for the upcoming year. COMMITTEE REPORTS: UPDATES: OLD BUSINESS: Community Projects -no report. I-630 Trees -no report. Website (Lynn) -Commissioner Warren noted she was still working on the website and the photos from the Landscape Awards from Chair Wiedower. Discussion commenced about posting the landscape award winners websites link to the CBC page. It was decided against. Vice -chair ask about the data that shows how many hits the website was getting monthly and what pages were the most popular. Commissioner Warren noted that information can be generated and she would try to have at next months meeting. Commissioner Warren noted the training for the webpage would take about an hour. City staff is checking on photos from the UV L� 2011 CBC Landscape Awards; upon receipt they are to be emailed to both Chair Wiedower and Commissioner Warren. Library Exhibit- (Julleah)-Commissioner Johnson and Commissioner Bell explained the exhibit is at Fletcher Library. Discussion commenced about photos, labeling, framing, battery operated photo frame, etc. Motion: Commissioner Homeyer made a motion to allow them to spend up to five hundred dollars ($500.00) to buy digital photo frames, a new backdrop, batteries, and other items as needed. Second: Commissioner Young seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. Bring all the receipts to next months meeting. Discussion commenced about expanding the locations such as, banks, the Old State House, Curran Hall, UALR, the Junior League building, the Clinton Library, the Peabody Hotel, etc. KLRB (Wiedower)- Chair Wiedower noted the KLRB had a cleanup, had approximately 35 participants, removing about 40 bags of trash. Ado t-A-Street Dicker, and Young)- Vice -chair noted a photo of the CBC will be taken this weekend and to meet at 8:30 a.m. Communications- (Cole)- Commissioner Cole noted the CBC made the newspaper, the Little Rock Notebook. The landscape award winners were announced. Commissioner Warren took a copy, will scan, and post the website. It was mentioned that when the new exhibit is ready maybe get something put on the website and in the paper. Perhaps, the article could be put on Facebook or a photo of the CBC could be put on Facebook. Eve of the Beholder- (Young)- It was discussed that if each CBC member could take a photo of each award winner when dropping the sign off at the home. Chair Wiedower volunteered to print a 13" X 19" photo. Commissioner Warren said she'd find the photos and get them to whomever. Maybe Meg could take a photo of the Commissioners for the website and such. Commissioner Young updated the list of Eye Awards. Commissioner Homeyer will get them made and bring the invoice to next months meeting. ` The ceremony went well and the three (3) recipients were very appreciative. The 2012 Landscape Award signs were discussed; six (6) signs- three (3) frames double -sided. Motion: Vice chair Dicker made a motion to pay approximately three hundred and fifty dollar ($350.00+/-) for Landscape Award signs for next year. Second: Commissioner Bell seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. It was noted Chair Wiedower had purchased the frames for this year. There are frames in city staff office too for use. Chair Wiedower needs to be reimbursed for his purchase of these frames. NEW BUSINESS: Officers for 2012 CBC The Slate of Officers for 2012 follows: Bill Wiedower-Chair Herb Dicker -Vice -chair Linda Bell -Treasury Motion: Commissioner Warren made a motion to accept the Slate of Officers as presented. Second: Commissioner Young seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. It was noted that the Vice -chair would also be a vice -treasurer, currently Herb Dicker. The Tree Pruning Ordinance Commissioner Warren noted that Robbie Hudson, the City Urban Forester, is out of the office and will be for a lengthy time. This will need to be tabled until his return. Vice -chair Dicker suggested the Tree Ordinance/pruning be postponed until the 2012 CBC retreat and to invite Robbie Hudson. It was noted that between now and the retreat commissioners go over last years summary and get any specific issues to Chair Wiedower if they need to be on the agenda. Commissioner Warren noted the minutes from last years meeting are on the internet now. 2012 Retreat The retreat is tentatively set for the third week in January, approximately 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m It was mentioned the training for the website could commence prior to the retreat ' eve yone wanted to attend then. The facilitator was discussed. It was decided that Sara R ck do e a good job last year and perhaps she would be available again. Chair Wiedower noted he would work on the facilitator and get back next month. Commissioner Bell inquired about the awards committee results. It was noted it should be discussed further at the upcoming retreat. Commissioner Young thanked everyone for participating in the Hearts and Hooves benefit.
