Call to Order:
LITTLE ROCK, AR 72201 The City Beautiful Commission held its monthly meeting on Thursday,
November 6, 1997, in the Sister City Conference Room. The meeting was
called to order at 8:22 a.m. and Chaired by Jim. LaBorde.

Approval of Minutes:
Minutes approved as they are.
❑ Had presentation from "Tree Streets", a non-profit group that plants
and maintains trees every Saturday. The group has focused efforts in and
around downtown area: (QQA, Central High Neighborhood and
Governor's Mansion district).

The group solicits "Memberships" to fund efforts. The group requested assistance from
CBC (see attached).
❑ "Light - Up - Little Rock" - The Commission decided to redefine this program by
placing a Tree at each of the three Police Sub -stations and inviting the community to
decorate each and participate in appropriate activities.
Parks will coordinate tree planting with Police Department.
The committee determined the need for a "Special meeting" next week at 8:15 a.m. to
discuss Light - Up - Little Rock (11-13-1997)
❑ Motion to support "Parks' Vision" by CBC - Parks will draft resolution - unanimous
support.
❑ Represented CBC At meeting concerning Birchwood subdivision disputed buffer zone
at 11300 Financial Center Parkway.
