SECTION 1. That Section 3 of Ordinance No. 13,554 of the
Citv of. Little Rack is herey amended to read as follows:
"That when a member of a board or commission has
missed more than 251 of all regular meetings of
that particular board or commission in one cal-
endar year or more than 3 consecutive regularly
scheduled meetings, then such person is auto-
matically removed from such position unless, prior
to the next scheduled meeting of the City Board of
Directors, the member submits in writing, his desire
to remain on the Board of Commission, then the City
Board of Directors, by a majority vote, shall allow
the member to continue to serve. Provided, any
Eeard of Commission of the City of Little Rock,
exceot the Civil Service Commission, Planning
Commission and Board of Adjustment, each of which
hears regularly scheduled petitions from the public,
may submit its own attendance policy in writing to
the City Board of Directors. If the Citv Beard
approves the policy by a majority vat-3, that Bcarc or
Commission sham then be exempted from the provisions
or this Ordinance."
SECTION 2. That due to the i-recpslar attendance by
members of s-cme boards and commissions, suc_^_ boards and
commissions are unable to function properly, thus the health
and welfare of the citizens are being endangered; now, there-
fore, an emergency is declared to exist, and this ordinance
being necessary for the preservation of public peace, health
and safety shall be in full force and e=feet from and after its
passage and aAproval.
