The Meeting was called to order at 8:15 a.m. by Chairman Frank Riggins. Roll Call Members Present: Frank Riggins Steve Cato Josephine Graham James Laborde Randy Stocks Pat Torvestad Unexcused: Judy Brown Excused: Joe Robbins, III Also Present: Bob Brown, Neighborhoods and Planning Mark Webre, Parks and Recreation Janeen Freeman, Parks and Recreation Approval of the Minutes: A MOTION WAS MOVED AND PASSED THAT THE COMMISSION APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE JUNE MEETING. Polish The Rock: A MOTION WAS MADE TO RECONSIDER EXXON FOR POLISH THE ROCK AWARD. Chairman Riggins proposed to have one award which is Polish the Rock for extra effort. Recipients effort has to be tied to beautification. When someone has been nominated to receive the award, pictures or a VCR tape must be brought in to exemplify their nomination. Landscape Awards: The top three winners of the Commercial Projects are as follows in order: Exceeding Ordinance Requirements: 1) Alltell Corporation - One Allied Drive 2) Super Shell Station - Shackleford and Kanis 3) Kirby's Grill and Bakery -10825 Heritage Road Voluntary Upgrading of Existing Sites: 1) War Memorial Park - Markham at Fairpark 2) Walnut Ridge Apartments - 1601 North Schackleford Road 3) Chiropractic Association - 2701 W.
