15781 RESOLUTION NO. 15,781 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH VSP, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED 5 ONE HUNDRED SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($160,000.00), TO 6 PROVIDE ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES FOR THE SELF-FUNDED 7 VISION PLAN, FOR A PERIOD BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2023 TO 8 DECEMBER 31,2023; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS,the City offers Group Vision Insurance for City employees and their dependents;and, 11 WHEREAS,due to the rising costs of a Fully-Insured Vision Plan,the City decided to move to a Self- 12 Funded Vision Plan with VSP providing the Administrative Services only; and, 13 WHEREAS,the basic cost for Administration and Claims Services is not to exceed One Hundred Sixty 14 Thousand Dollars($160,000.00)for 2023;and, 15 WHEREAS, Resolution No. 14,446 (November 1, 2016), authorized the initial term of the 16 Administrative Services Contract with VSP for 2017 with the option to extend the contract for seven (7) 17 additional years;and, 18 WHEREAS,January 1,2023,to December 31,2023, is the 7th year of a seven(7)-year term. 19 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 20 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 21 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with VSP to provide 22 Administrative Services only for the period of January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023, for an amount not 23 to exceed One Hundred Sixty Thousand Dollars($160,000.00). 24 Section 2. Funds for this agreement will be available from a line item for Group Vision Insurance in 25 the 2023 Budget. 26 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 27 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 28 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 29 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 30 resolution. 31 Section 4.Repealer.
