3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH DELTA DENTAL INSURANCE, IN AN
5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE MILLION, FIVE HUNDRED
6 THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,500,000.00), TO PROVIDE
7 ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES FOR A PERIOD BEGINNING JANUARY
8 1,2023,TO DECEMBER 31,2023; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS,the City offers Group Dental Insurance for City employees and their dependents;and,
11 WHEREAS, in October 2020, due to the rising costs of a Fully-Insured Dental Plan,the City decided
12 to move to a Self-Insured Dental Plan with Delta Dental providing the Administrative Services only;and,
13 WHEREAS,the basic cost for employee coverage, including administration and claims service to the
14 City is not to exceed One Million, Five Hundred Thousand Dollars($1,500,000.00)for 2023.
15 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
16 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
17 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with Delta Dental for
18 Administrative Services only for the period of January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023, for an amount not
19 to exceed One Million, Five Hundred Thousand Dollars($1,500,000.00)for employee coverage including
20 Administration and Claims Service.
21 Section 2. Funds for this agreement will be available from a line item for Group Dental Insurance in
22 the 2023 Budget.
23 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
24 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
25 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
26 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
27 resolution.
28 Section 4.Repealer. All laws, ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
29 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
