boa_11 12 1951MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF IiDJ iJSTMENT The Board of Adjustment net in the Mayor's Conference Room, City Hall, Monday, November 12, 1951, at 2:00 P. M., with the following members present: Miss Emily Penton, Chairman Mr. Warren Baldwin Mr. Louis Tarlowski Docket No. 59-51 - Mrs. N. M. Whaley, 1100 Wolfe Street, described as Lot 12, Block 20, Marshall and Wolfe's Addi- tion, zoned "C" Two -Family District; requesting a waiver of lot area, yard space, and two buildings on one lot. Mrs. Whaley was present and stated that she plans to build a garage apartment on the back of her lot. There is a doable garage on the lot now which is about to fall and she plans to tear it completely down. Mrs. -Thaley's lot line is where the hedge is. She said ths_t the building will face llth Street. There will be a beauty shop down stairs and the beauty operator will live up stairs. There were no protests since all of the neighbors approved. This petition was unanimously approved. Docket No. 60-51 - Mrs. Minor Ward, between North Lookout and Kenyon on East side of Hose Street, described as Lot 15, Block 16, Hillcrest Addition; zoned "A" One -Family District; requesting waiver of yard space on said property. Mr. Ward was present and stated that he plans to build a house on his lot. He is asking for a waiver of yard space. His lot is zoned in "B" Residence. There is,a 15 foot alley on each side of his lot. Mr. Ward is going to build a car port on the side of his house but it wouldn't block the view of other homes around him. He presented a map to show exactly what his plans are. This petition was unanimously approved. Docket No. 61-51 - Lawrence L. Smith, 1323 West 9th Street, described as West 50' of Lots 1 and 2, Block 327, Original City of Little Rock, zoned "F" Commercial District; request- ing waiver of yard space to build a Glass Shop. -2- Mr. Smith was present and requested a waiver of yard space to build a Glass Shop. The property is zoned for "F" Commercial. Mr. Fosters garage is located there now. Mr. Smith plans to tear down the garage on the property. The Glass Shop will cover the entire property. The build- ing will be built out of concrete blocks. NLr.'Smith will handle all kinds of glass and mirrors. The building will extend completely,out to the property line. This petition was unanimously approved. Docket No. 54-51 - Mrs. Winifred C. Pope, 2122 Rock Street, described as Lot 8, and Block 411, Duval's Addition, zoned "B" Residence District; requesting variation of zoneing re- quirements to alter non -conforming building.
