BOARD OF ADJJSTMNT
The Board gf Agri ustment met, in the Mayor's Conference Room, City
Hall, Monday, , s '..r, 19511 at 2:00 P. M., with the following
memb rs present:
Mr. Louis Tarlowski
Mr. Warren Baldwin
Mr. W. H. Marak
Mr. Warren Baldwin was acting Chairman.
Docket No. 54-51 - Mrs. Winifred C. Pope, 2122 Rock Street,
described as Lot g, and Block 411, DuValls Addition, zoned
"B" Residence District; requesting variation of zoning re-
quirements to alter non -conforming building.
There was no one present to represent this petition. Mr, Stephens
explained to the members what Mrs. Pope proposes to do. However, the
board members wanted to have Mrs. Pope present to ask some questions.
Mr. Tarlowski made a motion that the petition be deferred and was sec-
onded by Mr. Marak. The motion carried.
Docket No. 55-51 - G. C. Wood, 206 South Izard Street,
described as Lots 1, 2, and 3. Block 254, Original City
Addition, zoned "D" Apartment District; requesting waiver
of yard space and 2 buildings on 1 plot in order to extend
structure on rear of property.
Mr. Wood was present and presented a map to the board to study.
He stated that there would be 20.F11 between the houses. He plans to
add structure to the small house. He said that the property was zoned
as multi -,le residence. Mr. Wood stated that there were no nrotests.
Mr. Tarlowski made a motion that the retition be approved. It was
seconded b;T'Mr. Marak. The otion carried.
Docket No. 56-51 - Homer L. Bailer, 500 North Tay_or,
described as Lots 11 and 12, Block 29, Lincoln Park
Addition, zoned "B" Residence District; requesting
waiver of yard space to set building on irregular lot.
This petition was approved.
Docket No. 57-51 - Gaines Street Baptist Church, 1615
Gaines Street, by 0. A. Cates, described as Lots 3 and
4, Block 215, Original City Addition, zoned "E" Apartment
and "C" Two -Family= District; requesting waiver of yard
space in order to extend main building on property.
Mr. 0. A. Cates was present to represent this petition. He stated
that the extension would be on the back of the lot on Gaines. He said
that there was a residence on the front of the tot which was owned by
the church. *. presented a map to describe the exact plan. Mr. Cates

said that the church had sent letters to all the residence in that dis-
trict and there were no protests. Mr. Marak made a motion that the petition
be approved and was seconded by Mr. Tarlowski. The motion carried.
Docket No. 58-51 - Salvation Army, 816 Cornish Avenue, by
R. B. Matson Jr., described as Lots 7, 8, 91 10, Block 4.
Industrial Park Addition, zoned "B" Residence District; re-
questing permission to construct Salvation Army Church and
Religous Educational Building on property described.
This petition was dism'.ssed because of failure of applicant to
appear at meeting.
Miss Emily Penton succeeded Mr. Anderson as Chairman. Mr. Baldwin was
appointed Vice -Chairman.
Mr. Tarlowski presented a resolution to refrain from passing on
applications between meetings. It was decided that they would vote on
this resolution at their next meeting.
The meeting was then adjourned.
