OF THE
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
The Board of Adjustment met in the Mayor's Conference Room, City
Hall, Monday, December 15, 1952, at 2:00 p.m., with the following members
present:
Mr. `Marren Baldwin, Acting Chairman
Miss Emily Penton
Mr. Anderson was personally contacted,and,upon learning all of the
facts which whre presented at the meeting regarding each petition, he
voted in accordance with those members present at the meeting.
Docket No. 70-52 - Mrs. Louis East, 1224 Pine Valley
Road, described as Lot 34.7, Kingwood Addition, w ned
"A" One -Family District; requesting a waiver of rear
yard space in order to connect carport to the home
by a breeze -way.
Mr. Bast was present and stated that, at the time his property,
there was an old carport on the back of the lot. He plans to connect
this carport to his home by a breeze -way. Mr. Baldwin asked him if
there were any rules in the Bill of Assurance prohibiting Mr. East from
doing this. He answered that he had not seen the Bill of Assurance
since he had moved there but since yalthour - Flake Co. signed the
notice of hearing and didn't object he was fairly certain that it would
be permitted in the Bill of Assurance. The property owners surr&ending
Mr. East's property told him they thought it would be an improvement to
have the carport connected to the house by a breeze -way.
Mr. Baldwin made a motion that the petition be approved; seconded
by Miss Penton. The motion carried.
Docket No. 71-52 Josie Harris, 1100 East 7th Street,
described as Lots 3 & 4., Block 1, ;•7oodruf. f s Addition,
zoned "C" Two -Family District; requesting a waiver of
yard space, parts of two buiTdings on one lot and per-
mission to face McLean Street.
Since there was no one present to represent this petition, the
members voted to hold it over until the next neetin.g.
Docket No. 72-52 - Clayton A. Taylor, 1300 Iii gh. Street,
described as the east 80 feet of .Lot 12, Block 12,
Centennial-ddition, zoned "C" `two -Family District; re-
questing a waiver of yard space, lot area and two buildings
on one lot for new single family home.

Since there wasn't anyone present to represent this petition; the
members voted to hold it over until the next meeting.

Docket No. 73-52 - Park Place Baptist Church, 909 - 911
East 14th Street, described as Lots 11 ?z 12, Block 21,
',asonic Addition, zoned "C" Two -Family -0c "F" Commercial
Districts; requesting a waiver of yard space in order
to construct a church auditorium.
Mr. J. F. Anders, 905 Fast lath Street, was present to represent
this petition. He stated that the church plans to tear down the frame
building on the front of the lot and construct a new auditorium in its
place. The auditorium will be connected to the brick veneer building
on the rear of the lot. Mr. Antlers stated that the building would be
constructed within three feet of the side walk. The church will use
the brick veneer building on the rear of the lot for church services
during the construction of the new building. :after the new building
is completed, the brick structure on the back of the lot will be used
as the educational 'wilding. All -property owners were contacted per-
sonally end notified of the Board of r_d ju stment meeting with the ex-
ception of two people. One property owner was never at home and it
was gust impossible to contact him. The other was sent a letter in
Conway notifying him of the meeting. There were no objections.
Miss Penton made a motion that the petition be approved; seconded
by Mr. naldwin. The motion carried.
The meeting then adjourned.
