OF THE
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
The Board of Adjustment met in the Mayor's Conference Room, City
Hall, Monday, November 17, 1952, at 2400 p.m., with the following members
present:
Mr. Bruce Anderson, Chairman
Mr. Warren Baldwin
Mr. W. H. Marak
Docket No. 64-52 - S. E. Viggins, 1310 West 30th Street,
described as south 90' of Lot 6, Block 16, Bowman's Addi-
tion, zoned "B" Residence District; requesting a waiver
of front yard space and lot area in order to construct a
house on said property.
S. E. ?Huggins was present and said that his property is located
in the 1300 block on West 30th street. His lot is 52' x 901. He plans
to construct a single family dwelling unit on the lot. He stated that
there isn't a building at the back of his lot. There were no objections
to the petition.
Mr. Marak made a motion that the petition be approved; seconded by
Mr. Baldwin. The motion carried.
Docket No. 66-52 - Mrs. Karl H. Bemberg, 713 East 7th
street, described as Lot 3, Block 1, Johnson's Addition,
zoned "D" Apartment District; requesting a waiver of
yard space in order to construct a carport on said pro-
perty.
Mrs. Bemberg was present and stated that her lot extended from 7th
street to 8th street. d duplex is located on the lot facing 7th street
and her son has a house on the rear of the lot which faces gth street.
There is a drive running along the side of the lot which both Mrs.
Bemberg and her son use for their cars at the present time. She has
also built a concrete coping along the side of her drive. Mrs. Bemberg
proposes to build a carport at the back of both houses which will have
a sloping top held up by poles and will be placed over the drive. The
sloping top will naturally cause the water to draiv on her own property.
This carport will be constructed up to her property line. At the pre-
sent time there wil be only two cars parked under the carport however,
if in the future, the tenant in the other side of her duplex should
own a car, then three cars would be parked under it. There were no
objections to the petition.
Mr. Marak made a motion that the petition be approved; seconded by
By Mr. Baldwin. The motion carried.

Docket No. 67-52 - Harry Stacey, N.W. corner of 7th and
Battery Streets, described as Lot 7 and south 22' of Lot
S, Block 16, Faust's Addition, zoned "F" Commercial Dis-
trict; requesting a waiver of yard space in order to extend pre-
sent store building.
This petition was withdrawn.
Docket No. 65-52 - A. Stevenson, 719 West 15th Street,
described as Lot 1, Block 219, Original City of Little
Rock, zoned "C" Two -Family District; requesting a waiver
of three structures on one lot and a waiver of yard space
in order to add porch on rear of said property.
A. Stevenson was present and stated that she proposes to add a
10' porch on the rear of the house in which she is now living. Mrs.
Stevenson ownes two adjoining lots on which two houses, a duplex and
anX art studio are located. At the present time Mrs. Stevenson's
house is placed on only one of her lots but with a 10' porch added on
the back of it, the house will nartly be located on her other lot.
Mrs. Stevenson stated that she rents her duplex and other house. She
also rents a sleeping room in her studio. There is a garden on Mrs.
Stevenson's lot at the back of her house. She explained to the members
that she would like to enclose the pooch if they would permit her to.
Mr. Baldwin made a motion that the petition be approved; seconded
by Mr. Marak. The motion carried.
_Docket No. 69-52 - James Walter, 1805 Pulaski Street,
described as Lot 2, Fulk's Subdivision of Block 317,
Original City of Little Rock, zoned "C" Two -Family
District; requesting a waiver of side yard space.
Mr. Baldwin made a motion that this petitibA be approved; seconded
by Mr. Marak. The motion carried.
The meeting then adjourned.
