There being a quorum present, the meeting was called to order by the Chairman at
2:00 P.M A motion was made for approval of the minutes of the last meeting
as mailed, which was seconded and passed.
Action was taken as follows:
Tract No. 1 - Z-2208
Applicant: William B. Cravens
Location: ##55 Pine Manor
Description: Lot 54, Pine Manor Addition
Classification: "A" -One -family District
Variance: Requests a Variance from the yard area
setback provisions of Section 43-12 of
Code of Ordinances to permit an addition
to an existing nonconforming residential
structure
Mr. William B. Cravens of 55 Pine Manor requested a variance in the yard setback
to permit an addition to an existing non -conforming structure. Ile asked if
those present had plans that visualized the structure. All members did. The
question was asked about the non -conforming use, and the width of the lot was
discussed.
Mr. Cravens said that in talking with others about this variance, he understood
that if the overpass (breezeway) which connects the two buildings was not built,
but the structure itself was built, he would not have had to come before this
Board. For appearance sake, the breezeway is attached to the house to look
better.
Concerning a utility pole that would possibly have to be moved, Mr. Cravens

said that the utility pole would not be moved and the guywire will be moved
closer to the pole.
Mrs. Grainger, daughter of Mrs. Byrd, an adjoining property owner, stated that
their objection to this variance was concern?d with the utility pole and
the guywire, and since they would not be moved, there was no objection.
A motion was made that the Variance be approved, which was seconded and passed.
