A quorum was found to be present. In the absence of the chair-
man, Iir. Lyons, Jr. I;eeks presided. He called the meeting to order
and an advertised public hearing was held on the following dockets:
Docket No. 34-61
Applicant: Bruce Thalheimer
Location: 7125 Rockwood Road
Description: Lots 285 A and 285 B, Kingwood Place Addition
Classification: GeA" One -family District
Variance. From the rear yard provisions to permit con-
struction of a one-story addition for rec-
reation room and two servants rooms
No one was present to represent this application. Mr. de Noble
explained the request to the Board. He said it amounted to a one-
story building for a play room and servants room with bath. There
was a question of whether or not the bill of assurance for this area
would allow servants rooms. The Board agreed that this does not
come under their jurisdiction, but that it should be considered by
the applicant. A rear yard waiver of 9 feet instead of 12 as origi-
nally requested was explained.
In executive session the Board agreed that they would like to
see Mr. Thalheimer°s building plans before any action is taken. The
staff was instructed to ask him to submit these plans and to call his
attention to the bill of assurance.

Descriptions A tract of land located in the NE 1/4 of the
N!,T 1/4 of Sec. 24, T1N, A121-1, more particular-
ly described as -- long legal
Classifications "F" Commercial District
Variance: From all applicable provisions of Section 13
of that ordinance to permit extension of build-
ing for a beauty shop
Mr. Spann was present. He wishes to make this addition to the
building to use for a beauty shop. He said the existing building
shown on the plot plan will eventually be moved. The staff recom-
mended that it be approved.
In executive session Miss Penton moved that it be approved, Mr.
Iā¢Iarak seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Location: 3213 Gainos Street
Description: Lot 12, block 1, Calloway°s Addition
Classification: "B" Residende District
Variance* From all applicable provisions of Section 11
of that ordinance to permit construction of
a carport
The notice of hearing had not been returned and no action was
taken. After discussion, the Board agreed that they could see nothing
wrong with the carport, but recommended denial unless the old building
on the rear of the lot is removed. Action was postponed until the
October 16th meeting.
