There being a quorum, the nneting was called to order. The minutes of the last
meeting were approved as mal ed.
Action was taken on the following applications for Variances
Item No. 1 m (Z-1675)
Applicant: Howard Cockrill

Variance: Requests a Variance from the Side -Yard Provisions
of Section 43-12 of the Code of Ordinances to

Mr. Howard Cockrill was present. There were no objectors. He stated that he
built a new house lz years ago and now wants to build this small addi-tion, 16,
X 26, at the rear and to the side,which would have bathroom facilities, for his
son who is a medical student. His nair4hbors do not object. A motion was made by
Mr. Farrell for approval of this app r i Cation for Variance and waiver of 11 Side -
yard Provision. The motion was secorn&: d by Mr. Marak, and passed unanimously.

Variances
Requests
a Variance from the Use -Provisions of
Section
43-12 of the Code of Ordinances to
permit construction
of signs
Mr. Charles Miller of Pleasant Valley, Inc. was present. He explained that they
want to erect two signs9 one at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Drive and
Highway No. 10 which has been sold to the Second Presbyterian Church; and the other
"All type sign on the west side of Pleasant Ylalley Drive at the entrance to the golf
course. Also at the office site they would like "B" type signs for "Engineering
and Sales OFffice" display, and would like to have permission to erect certain
signs at a later date for the purpose of guiding the public and pointing out certain
developments, etc. 'Type "C" signs will be "2sed sometime later. "A"" and "B" type
signs are of a commercial size which i.s not permitted in the ordinance. Only 220
acres are being developed now. The signs wtl:l be well constructed with metal poles
which would not deteriorate.
A motion was made to permit the Variance for a period of twelve months at which
time a review will be made to determine whether the waiver should be extended
for a further period of time on the °"A"" and "B" signs. The motion was seconded
and passed unanimously.

Mrs. Karl Bausman was present. There were no objectors. She said she has a water
problem and wants to have an awning built over the existing patio. A motion was
made for approval of this Variance which was seconded and passed unanimously.

Clastificatiam: "HII-Business District
Variance: Requests a Variance of Main Structure Provisions
of Section 43-2 Code of Ordinances to permit
construction of two apartment buildings.
There was no one present in the interest of this application. This property is in
Fire District #2 which does not allow type 6 construction (frame) in this zone.
A motion was made for approval subject to the construction meeting the requirements
of Fire District #2, building code and parking requirements. The motion was
seconded and passed unanimously.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 2:45 P. M.
