Storthz Location: 5919 "B" Street Description: t Lot -3, Block 1, Orlando Heights Classification: '!B"- Residence District Variance-. Requests a Variance fran the Use Provi- sions of Section 43-3 of the Code of Ordinances to permit parking lot in residential zone A special meeting was necessary to hear this qnd the following case due to the fact that Mr. W. R.Meeks disqualified himself from voting at the regular meeting July 19,1965, leaving a less than minimum voting strength. As a consequence these cases were readvertised for hearing at this special meeting, and adjacent property owners were notified by the Department of Community Development. Mr. Stanley Price, Attorney, and Sam J. Storthz were present in the interest of this application. Mr. Price restated the facts as set out in the minutes of the July 19,1965 meeting that he is asking for a waiver of the use provisions of the ordinance in order that Lot 3 may be used as a parking lot for an office building which is to be erected on Lots 1 and 2 of Block 1. Mr. B. J. Little, 5913 "B" Street, adjacent property owner, filed a letter in which he stated that he did not oppose the requested Variance provided a chain -link fence four feet in height with evergreen planting be constructed adjacent to his property instead of a six foot solid type wall. Board of Adjustment Minutes - Special Meeting July 30,1965 -2- A motion was made that the Variance be approved provided that a 4 foot chain -link fence with appropriate broad -leaf evergreen screening be placed on the east property line (Lot 3); that it meets the requirements of the parking ordinance; that no parking wou ld be permitted in the 25 foot front yard space; that the brick wall 6 feet in height and a broad -leaf evergreen planting be extended on the.,south side of Lot 3 from Lots 1 and 2 unless covenant pertaining to Lots 1 and 2, amended July 18,1965 -deleting the requi renent of a 6 foot wal 1 on the east side only of Lot 2, is further amended to provide other screening. Storthz Location: 5921 and 5925 "B" Street Description: Lots 1 and 2, Block 1, Orlando Heights Classification: "E=1" Quiet Business District Variance: Requests a Variance from the Rear Yard Setback Provisions of Section 43-14 of Code of Ordinances to permit construction of office building Mr. Stanley Price, Attorney, and Mr. Lewis A. Storthz were present. He restated his case as set out -in the minutes of the meeting of July 19th. A.motion was made for approval of the Variance provided no parking is permitted in the front yard area ("B"-Street) and that this be maintained as walk and green area; that trash and garbage be collected in onE: central location within a brick enclosure at the rear of the property; and that all requirements of the parking ordinance are met; and that if the Planning Commission should amend the original covenant, which required a 6 foot brick wall with a broad -leaf evergreen planting on the south side of Lots 1 and 2, to require instead a 4 foot chain -link fence with:broad-leaf ever- green planting, such. requirement would be satisfactory` to the Board. The same type screening,however, is required on the south side of Lot 3. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 2:30 P.
