3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH DOYNE CONSTRUCTION CO., INC., IN AN
5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED EIGHTY-NINE THOUSAND, FIVE
6 HUNDRED EIGHTY-SIX DOLLARS ($89,586.00), TO RENOVATE THE
7 MEMBERSHIP TICKET AREA AT THE LITTLE ROCK ZOO; AND FOR
8 OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, it has been determined that the Little Rock Zoo Gift Shop should be renovated to
11 construct a Membership Office and Ticket Window area for new and current Zoo Members;and,
12 WHEREAS, Zoo Members and general admission guests have been sharing the same entrance and
13 office windows; and,
14 WHEREAS,the renovation to include the Membership Office and window will enhance the entrance
15 experience for Zoo Members and general admissions creating a safer passage while speeding up the
16 entrance and ticketing process; and,
17 WHEREAS, pursuant to Bid Event No. 1458-2, the City received four (4) bids for this Gift Shop
18 Renovation and it was determined that Doyne Construction Co., Inc., was the lowest responsible and
19 responsive bidder.
20 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
21 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
22 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Doyne Construction Co.,Inc.,
23 to renovate the Little Rock Zoo Membership Ticket Area to add a Membership Office and Window for a
24 total amount of Eighty-Nine Thousand, Five Hundred Eighty-Six Dollars($89,586.00).
25 Section 2. Funding for this project is available in the Zoo Upgrades Account No. 326659-TS65A32.
26 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
27 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
28 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
29 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
30 resolution.
31 Section 4. Repealer. All resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with this resolution are
32 hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
