CBC_08 26 2021LITTLE ROCK CITY BEAUTIFUL COMMISSION The City Beautiful Commission held a planned meeting at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Little Rock City Hall, 2nd Floor, Board of Directors Chambers, 500 West Markham St. Simultaneously the meeting was virtually held online using the WebEx format. Chairman, Sanders -Woods called the meeting to order. MEMBERS PRESENT: Steve Homeyer Robert Walker PHYSICAL LOCATION Troy Laha Bob Winchester MEMBERS PRESENT: BJ Sanders -Woods WEBEX (VIRTUAL — Suzanne Peyton ONLINE) Kenny A. Stephens MEMBERS ABSENT: Shelby Linck Louise Miller OPEN POSITIONS: Two ALSO, PRESENT: Beth Carpenter, City Attorney's Office, via WebEx Jamie Collins, Department Director, Department of Planning and Development D. Tracy Spillman, Plans Development Administrator, Department of Planning and Development, City of Little Rock. APPROVAL OF THE MARCH MEETING MINUTES: Commissioner Homeyer entertained a motion to approve the July Minutes. Motion: Commissioner Walker made a motion that the July 22, 2021, Minutes be approved. Second: Commissioner Winchester seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. TREASURER'S REPORT: Expense Report: Commissioner Peyton had nothing new to report. KLRB: Chairman Sanders-Woods stated that herself, and Commissioners Peyton, and Linck had participated in the MacArthur Park dog park cleanup with members of KLRB and students from the Bowman School of Law on Aug 14. Chairman Sanders-Woods also stated that KLRB has a proposal for a pollinator garden in Allsopp Park. Bob Callens with KLRB is supervising this effort and is seeking funding, plant materials, or maintenance support. Chairman Sanders-Woods noted that Commissioner Winchester is a member of the Master Gardeners and inquired if he could help. Commissioner Winchester responded that it may be possible for members of the Master Gardeners to donate native plant materials. The commissioner then requested that Chairman Sanders-Woods obtain additional detailed information and forward this to him through Staff. Staff agreed to forward any additional documentation that is received. Adopt-A-Street: Commissioner Winchester stated that the next Adopt-A-Street pickup will be held September 11, at 8:00 am. Eye of the Beholder: Chairman Sanders-Woods stated that there was nothing new to report. T.R.E.E Fund: Commissioner Homeyer stated that he had nothing new to report. Landscape Awards: Commissioner Homeyer stated that the Landscape Award nomination period will close at the end of August and encouraged the commissioners to make nominations. Commissioner Homeyer further stated that that he will deliver additional nominees to Staff. Commissioner Homeyer also stated that the awards will be reviewed and voted on at next month’s meeting. Motion: Commissioner Laha made a motion that an expenditure of up to $350 be allowed for the metal landscape award signs to be produced. Second: Commissioner Winchester seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. NEW BUSINESS: There was no new business. ANNOUNCEMENTS: The next Adopt -A -Street pickup will be held September 11, at 8:00 am. ADJOURNMENT: Chairman Sanders -Woods entertained a motion to adjourn. Motion: Commissioner Walker made a motion to adjourn. Second: Commissioner Winchester seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 4:16 pm.
