15515 1 RESOLUTION NO. 15,515 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH EPA DEMOLITION AND CONSTRUCTION 5 SERVICES, LLC, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED 6 THIRTY-SIX THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($136,500.00), 7 FOR THE DEMOLITION AND CLEAN-UP OF AN UNSAFE 8 COMMERCIAL BUILDING LOCATED AT 1717 NORTH MISSISSIPPI 9 STREET,LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS, the building located at 1717 North Mississippi Street, Little Rock, Arkansas, has 12 continued to deteriorate for the past several years, and it has been determined to be unsafe and a nuisance; 13 and, 14 WHEREAS,the building continues to have negative effect on the surrounding neighborhood,citizens 15 and City;and, 16 WHEREAS, the Little Rock City Board of Directors condemned the building and approved the 17 demolition of the building via Ordinance No.21,931 (December 15, 2020). 18 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 19 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 20 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with EPA Demolition and 21 Constructor Services, LLC, in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Thirty-Six Thousand, Five Hundred 22 Dollars($136,500.00)for the demolition and clean-up of the building. 23 Section 2. Funds for the demolition are allocated in the City's Demolition Account No. 108359-63390- 24 S35C154. 25 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of 26 this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication 27 shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the 28 portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the resolution. 29 Section 4. Repealer.
