A RESOLUTION TO APPOINT EVETTE BRADY TO SERVE AS A
TOURISM INDUSTRY REPRESENTATIVE (RESTAURANT
OWNER), TO THE LITTLE ROCK ADVERTISING & PROMOTION
COMMISSION; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, Lawrence Jude Stewart had been appointed to serve as a tourism industry
representative (restaurant owner) of the Little Rock Advertising & Promotion Commission ( "the
Commission "), but had to resign this position prior to the expiration of his term on May 14, 2002,
and,
WHEREAS, Ark. Code Ann. § 26- 75- 605(d) (Michie Repl. 1997) provides that vacancies
on the commission "shall be filled by appointment made by the remaining members of the
commission, with the approval of the governing body of the city, " and,
WHEREAS, on November 17, 1999, the Commission approved a resolution, attached as
Exhibit A to this resolution, which appointed Ms. Evette Brady to serve as a tourism industry
representative (restaurant owner) and to fill the unexpired term of Mr. Stewart, and expressly stated
in the resolution that Ms. Brady is qualified to hold this position.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors approves the appointment of Ms. Evette Brady to fill
an unexpired tourism industry representative term on the Little Rock Advertising & Promotion
Commission, this unexpired term to end on May 14, 2002.

A RESOLUTION APPOINTING EVETTE BRADEY TO FILL THE
UNEXPIRED TERM OF LAWRENCE JUDE STEWERT AS A
COMMISSIONER ON THE CITY ADVERTISING AND
PROMISSION COMMISSION OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS
FOR A TERM ENDING ON MAY 14, 2002, REQUESTING
APPROVAL THEREOF BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, AND PRESCRIBING
OTHER MATTERS PERTAINING THERETO.
WHEREAS, Lawrence Jude Stewert did resign as a Commissioner of the City
Advertising and Promotion Commission of Little Rock, Arkansas in a tourism industry
position and his term will not expire until May 14, 2002; and,
WHEREAS, Evette Bradey meets the requirements and qualifications to serve as
a Commissioner on the Commission in a Tourism industry position.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSIONERS OF
THE CITY ADVERTISING AND PROMOTION COMMISSION OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That Evette Bradey be and hereby is appointed to serve as a
Commissioner of this Commission in a tourism industry position to fill the unexpired
term of Lawrence Jude Stewert and the said Evette Bradey shall serve in that position
until May 14, 2002 or until her successor is duly qualified and appointed.
SECTION 2. In furtherance of the foregoing the Commission requests that the
Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas approve Evette Bradey's
appointment aforesaid in accordance with the provisions of A.C.A. §26 -75 -605.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be and is in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
