15425 1 RESOLUTION NO. 15,425 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH CRANFORD CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, 5 IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THREE MILLION, THREE 6 HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED SEVENTEEN AND 7 82/100 DOLLARS ($3,350,417.82), FOR STREET RESURFACING 8 WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER 9 PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS, Street resurfacing improvements are needed within the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,to 12 maintain existing asphalt streets; and, 13 WHEREAS, citizens of the City of Little Rock approved a Sales Tax Issue and Bond Issue which 14 provided funding for these resurfacing improvements; and, 15 WHEREAS, Cranford Construction Company submitted the lowest bid (Bid No. 1159) meeting 16 specifications for the 2021 Street Resurfacing Program. 17 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 18 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 19 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Cranford 20 Construction Company in an amount not to exceed Three Million, Three Hundred Fifty Thousand, Four 21 Hundred Seventeen and 82/100 Dollars ($3,350,417.82), or Two Million, Seven Hundred Ninety-Two 22 Thousand, Fourteen and 85/100 Dollars($2,792,014.85), plus 20%contingency. 23 Section 2. Funding for this project is from the 3/8-Cent Capital Improvement Sales and 24 Compensating Use Tax Funds and Limited Tax General Obligation Capital Improvement Bond Funds. 25 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 26 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 27 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 28 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 29 resolution. 30 Section 4. Repealer.
