15304 1 RESOLUTION NO. 15,304 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH NORTH AMERICA FIRE EQUIPMENT 5 COMPANY, INC., FOR THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF ONE HUNDRED 6 EIGHTY-TWO THOUSAND, NINE HUNDRED FORTY-SIX AND 94/100 7 DOLLARS ($182,946.94), FOR THE PURCHASE OF FIREFIGHTING 8 PROTECTIVE COATS AND PANTS FOR THE LITTLE ROCK FIRE 9 DEPARTMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS,the Little Rock Fire Department is in need for protective coats and pants; and, 12 WHEREAS,the specifications for this purchase were written and approved by the members serving 13 on the Little Rock Fire Department Safety Committee;and, 14 WHEREAS,bids were taken for the Firefighting Protective Coats and Pants, Bid Number 17183 and 15 North America Fire Equipment Company, Inc.,was the low bidder, of the three(3)bids submitted,with a 16 bid for eighty-four(84)Coats and eighty-four(84)Pants for a total bid not to exceed One Hundred Eighty- 17 Two Thousand,Nine Hundred Forty-Six and 96/100 Dollars($182,946.96),plus applicable taxes and taxes; 18 and, 19 WHEREAS,staff recommends that a contract be awarded to North America Fire Equipment Company, 20 Inc.,for the purchase PBI Coats and PBI Pants. 21 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 22 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 23 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with North America Fire Equipment 24 Company,Inc.for the purchase of eighty-four(84)PBI Coats and eighty-four(84)PBI Pants for the amount 25 of One Hundred Eighty-Two Thousand, Nine Hundred Forty-Six and 96/100 Dollars ($182,946.96), plus 26 applicable taxes and fees. 27 Section 2. Funding for this purchase is through 3/8-cent sales tax for activity TF5IC05. 28 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 29 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 30 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 31 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 32 resolution. 33 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with 34 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
