15303 1 RESOLUTION NO. 15,303 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE 4 TWO (2) CONTRACTS WITH CARELINK, IN AMOUNTS NOT TO 5 EXCEED SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS($60,000.00)AND THIRTY-FIVE 6 THOUSAND DOLLARS($35,000.00),TO PROVIDE MEALS ON WHEELS 7 FOR LOW-INCOME CITIZENS RESIDING WITHIN THE CITY OF LIT- 8 TLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, UTILIZING THE 2020 COMMUNITY 9 DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS; AND FOR OTHER 10 PURPOSES. 11 12 WHEREAS, in Little Rock,Ark., Resolution No. 15,170 (February 18, 2020),the Board of Directors 13 approved the sources and uses of 2020 Community Development Block Grant Funds from the U.S. 14 Department of Housing&Urban Development;and, 15 WHEREAS, in Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 15,211 (April 28, 2020), the Board of Directors 16 approved additional sources and uses of 2020 Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus Funds 17 from the U.S. Department of Housing&Urban Development; and, 18 WHEREAS, a contract with Carelink to provide Meals on Wheels to the elderly was one of the 19 approved projects;and, 20 WHEREAS, a contract with Carelink to provide Meals on Wheels to the elderly to prevent, prepare, 21 or mitigate the economic impact of COVID-19 was one of the approved projects;and, 22 WHEREAS,funding is now in place to be able to enter into such an agreement. 23 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 24 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 25 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with Carelink in an amount not 26 to exceed Sixty Thousand Dollars($60,000.00)to provide Meals on Wheels to the elderly pursuant to the 27 proposal included in the City's 2020 request for Community Development Block Grant Funds. 28 Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with Carelink in an amount not 29 to exceed Thirty-Five Thousand Dollars($35,000.00)to provide Meals on Wheels to prevent, prepare, or 30 mitigate the economic impact of COVID-19 to the elderly pursuant to the proposal included in the City's 31 2020 request for Community Development Block Grant Funds. 32 Section 3. Funds for these agreements are available in the Community Development Block Grant 33 Funds from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development monitored by the Housing & 34 Neighborhood Programs Department. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 2 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 3 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 4 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 5 resolution. 6 Section 4. Repealer.
