15302 1 RESOLUTION NO. 15,302 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE 4 TWO (2) CONTRACTS WITH CHI ST. VINCENT MEDICAL GROUP, IN 5 AMOUNTS NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY-FIVE 6 THOUSAND DOLLARS ($175,000.00),AND ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND 7 DOLLARS ($100,000.00), TO PROVIDE HEALTH CARE SERVICES FOR 8 LOW-INCOME CITIZENS RESIDING WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE 9 ROCK, ARKANSAS, UTILIZING THE 2020 COMMUNITY 10 DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS; AND FOR OTHER PUR- 11 POSES. 12 13 WHEREAS, in Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 15,170(February 18, 2020),the Board of Directors 14 approved the sources and uses of 2020 Community Development Block Grant Funds from the U.S. 15 Department of Housing&Urban Development; and, 16 WHEREAS, in Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 15,211 (April 28, 2020), the Board of Directors 17 approved additional sources and uses of 2020 Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus Funds 18 for from the U.S. Department of Housing&Urban Development; and, 19 WHEREAS, a contract with CHI St.Vincent Medical Group to provide Health Care Services for low- 20 income citizens was one of the approved projects;and, 21 WHEREAS, a contract with CHI St. Vincent Medical Group to prevent, prepare, or mitigate the 22 economic impact of COVID-19 to low-income citizens was one of the approved projects;and, 23 WHEREAS,funding is now in place to be able to enter into such an agreement. 24 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 25 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 26 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with CHI St. Vincent Medical 27 Group in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars($175,000.00)to provide 28 Health Care Services to low-income citizens pursuant to the proposal included in the City's 2020 request 29 for Community Development Block Grant Funds. 30 Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with CHI St. Vincent Medical 31 Group in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00)to provide Health Care 32 Services to prevent, prepare, or mitigate the economic impact of COVID-19 to low-income citizens [Page 1 of 2[ 1 pursuant to the proposal included in the City's 2020 request for Community Development Block Grant 2 Funds. 3 Section 3. Funds for these agreements are available in the Community Development Block Grant 4 Funds from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development monitored by the Housing & 5 Neighborhood Programs Department. 6 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 7 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 8 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 9 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 10 resolution. 11 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with 12 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency. 13 ADOPTED: October 6,2020 14 A .
