RESOLUTION NO. 121256
3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 EXECUTE A CHANGE ORDER FOR THE DUNBAR COMMUNITY
5 CENTER PROJECT TO PROVIDE FOR ROOF AND FLOOR
6 REPLACEMENT AND PAINTING IMPROVEMENTS; AND FOR
7 OTHER PURPOSES.
9 WHEREAS, the Dunbar Community Center renovation was initiated as a 2004
10 Bond project in December, 2005, and a contract was entered into for an amount not to
11 exceed $1,855,500.00, and
12 WHEREAS, after construction began it was determined that the roof had
13 deteriorated to a point where it could no longer be patched and must be replaced, and
14 WHEREAS, due to leaks from the roof, the floor has sustained damage and must
15 be replaced, and
16 WHEREAS, paint improvements are needed to tie the old and new areas
17 together to give the facilities a finished appearance, and
18 WHEREAS, the replacement of the roof and floor and painting improvements
19 will be in the amount of $175,000.
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
21 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:

To authorize a change order for roof, floor and painting at
Dunbar Community Center
I Section 1. The Board of Directors authorizes the City Manager to execute a
2 change order to the contract for renovation of the Dunbar Community Center in the
3 amount of One Hundred Thirty -one Thousand, Six Hundred Three Dollars
4 ($131,603.00), for the replacement of the roof and floor, and painting improvements at
5 the Dunbar Community Center.
6 Section 2. Funding is available from 2004 Bond Issue funds.
7 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
8 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
9 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining
10 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so
11 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
12 resolution.
13 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that
14 are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent
15 of such inconsistency.
