LITTLE ROCK HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION
September 30, 2004

The meeting was called to order and a quorum was present being five (3) in number.
Item No. 1: 424 East 6th Street
The applicant was present Robert Wood:
Legal notice was given.
Discussion centered on the period style of the structure and what would be the best
design for changes to the porch, columns and balusters. Type of fencing was also
discussed.
Commissioner Walls moved to approve COA with the following conditions:
Final fence design and balusters be presented to staff with simple round columns with
Doric cap and base. Balusters should be in concert with picture provided (blue house).
Fence should be iron, wire or pickets of simple design.
Commissioner Newbern seconded motion.
COA with conditions approved.
Other Business
605 East 6th Street-Owner Larry Wells wanted to do repair work. Distributed picture of
condition of structure on front and side porch. Ann Guthrie previously approved
replacing shingles on roof. Owner replaced half of the shingle with green color and
wants to finish. Applicant was considering no change in design of porch or roof.
Commission indicated that no COA would be required if only repair work is performed
and no changes. If any changes to windows with bars would require a COA. Have
owner complete application for file documentation of repair work.
Next commission meeting will October 7, 2004. Three applications are to be considered.
Notice of property owners near 417 East 10 th Street and specifically 1002 Commerce
Street owned by Ms. Tom McRae.
With there being no further business before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned.
