3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH SAMCO CONSTRUCTION COMPANY,
5 INC., FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF ARKANSAS RIVER TRAIL, JR.
6 DEPUTY SECTION, FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE
7 HUNDRED THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($130,000.00); AND FOR

8 OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, Invitation to Bid #5333R was issued for construction of the
11 Arkansas River Trail, Jr. Deputy Section (Jessie Road to Cajuri s Wharf Drive), and
12 Samco Construction Company, Inc. submitted the most responsible and responsive bid
13 in the amount of One Hundred Fifteen Thousand, One Hundred Fifty-eight and 60/100
14 Dollars ($115,158.60), and an additional Fourteen Thousand, Eight Hundred Forty-one
15 and 40/100 Dollars ($14,841.40) may be needed for contingencies which may occur in
16 the construction project.
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
18 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. The Board of Directars hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter
20 into a contract with Samco Construction Company, Inc., in an estimated amount not to
21 exceed One Hundred Thirty Thousand Dollars ($130,000.00) .
22 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are to be allocated from the 2004 Bond Issue
23 Fund.
24 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
25 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
26 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining

portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so
declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
resolution.
Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that
are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent
of such inconsistency.
