3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH VORTEX AQUATIC STRUCTURES
5 INTERNATIONAL, FOR A TOTAL CONTRACT AMOUNT OF FOUR
6 HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($450,000.00), TO
7 CONSTRUCT AND INSTALL A SPLASH PAD AND MAKE
8 IMPROVEMENTS AT CRUMP PARK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS,the Parks & Recreation Department requests a contract with Vortex Aquatic Structures
11 International ("Vortex")for the installation of a Vortex 5,270 square-foot splash pad, including site work,
12 sidewalks, shade shelters,benches,tables and trash receptacles("Splash Pad Project")at Crump Park;and,
13 WHEREAS, the Splash Pad Project and installation services will not exceed Four Hundred Fifty
14 Thousand Dollars($450,000.00),which is a base project cost of Three Hundred Ninety-Six Thousand,Two
15 Hundred Fourteen and 20/100 Dollars($396,214.20)with contingency funding;and,
16 WHEREAS,funding for the contract with Vortex Splash Pad Project will be funded from Crump Park
17 3/8-Cent Capital Improvement Sales Tax Funds,Account No. 326459-TS45A18;and,
18 WHEREAS, the project for the Vortex Splash Pad and installation services was quoted using the
19 National Purchasing Partners(NPPGov)Contract RFP No. 570.
20 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
21 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
22 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with Vortex Aquatic Structures
23 International in an amount not to exceed a total cost of Four Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars($450,000.00),
24 for the installation of a Vortex 5,270 square-foot Splash Pad,including site work,sidewalks,shade shelters,
25 benches,tables and trash receptacles located at Crump Park.
26 Section 2. The funds for the contract with Vortex Splash Pad Project will be funded from Crump Park
27 3/8-Cent Capital Improvement Sales Tax Funds,Account No. 326459-TS45A18.
28 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
29 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
30 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
31 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
32 resolution.
33 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
34 the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
