HDC_04 17 2003City of Little Rock HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION MINUTES LITTLE ROCK HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION APRIL 17, 2003 SPECIAL MEETING Commissioners Present: Howard Gordon Carolyn Newbern Wesley Walls Wyatt Weems Commissioners Absent: Marshall Peters. Staff Present: Tony Bozynski Debra Weldon The meeting was called to order and a quorum was present being four (4) in number. Item No. 1: 1009 Rock Street Staff updated the Commission on the 'issue and the need for the special meeting. Terry Davidson, representing the owner, explained the problems that the project had encountered and said there was an offer on the house. Mr. Davidson made a number of comments and said that he would do the remaining work. Mr. Davidson also indicated that he could probably complete the project in two to three weeks. Mr. Davidson asked about the sidewalk and he was told to contact Public Works. Chris Kent, property owner to the south, addressed the Commission and described some of the problems with the project. Mr. Kent told the Commission that he was agreeable with giving the owner of 1009 Rock Street additional time to complete the work. There was some discussion and several questions asked. Terry Davidson said there would be no changes to the approved plans and the new water line would be inspected. A motion was made to extend the Certificate of Appropriateness for two (2) weeks, to May 1, 2003. The motion was approved by a vote of 4 ayes, 0 nays and 1 absent. Other Business: Staff was asked to send a letter to the owner of 1305 Cumberland concerning the fence in the front yard. There was some discussion about the next CLG funding cycle and possible projects. One suggestion was made and that was a new survey for the MacArthur Park area. It was decided to continue discussing this item at upcoming Commission meetings. A question was asked about the fence at 900 Rock Street and approved Certificate of Appropriateness. Staff was asked to review the file and report back to the Commission at the May meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 5:45 p.m. TB:se
